From this article you will learn how to bring the video to the top of YouTube and Trends, as well as find a lot of useful tricks and knowledge
Everybody knows that people would rather watch a video than read a big long blog post (I know, I should have done this as a video too—maybe one day). In fact, 59% of executives say they would rather watch a video than read text. That’s a lot of people. Which means that video SEO can have countless benefits: increased watch time, broader brand awareness, and more sales and leads.
YouTube recommends that you put your most important keywords in the first couple of sentences of your description – and that your description should be no longer than 200 words. Broadly speaking—make your description useful. If it doesn’t help a user—delete it.
YouTube algorithms for getting to the top of search and online
Youtube is a service where people post their videos and also search for the video material they need. But you don’t have to know everything, the main components, which will help you to output, raise and promote the video on Youtube, are enough. In short, they look like this:
Bringing video to the top of the rankings has two main advantages:
In our experience, getting the video to the top gives you from 150 thousand to 1.5 additional views. Thus, the cost per video view can be reduced by 1.5 to 3.5 times in an advertising campaign.
In addition to the one-time influx of additional views, getting your video in the top has a positive impact on its further “life” on YouTube. Service more often recommends such videos through its recommendation services, providing the video additional organic views for a long period of cooling of the advertising campaign.
Again, that’s if very briefly. And if after such a long introduction you think that this article will be just another piece of information without specifics, you’re wrong. What you need to know for sure, that without an impressive activity on the channel you can’t get the results you want. You can get real subscribers, likes and views on YouTube or Instagram at https://lowcostsmm.com.
The Popular playlist contains videos that are popular on YouTube on a given day. YouTube actively promotes videos from this playlist by showing video announcements on the home page, newsletters, “Recommended” blocks, and so on. As a result, videos that make it to the top get an additional number of organic views.
And the higher the position in the ranking, the more additional views the video gets, of course. Thus, bringing a video to YouTube’s top is the most effective way to optimize the value of video views. With the right approach, you can bring even not very viral videos to the main page and thus reduce the cost per view on average by 2.5 times.
Next, we’ll look at each point specifically with you and divide it into steps, each of which will give you instructions on how to get any video to the top of Youtube for further development.
Key ranking factors for getting into YouTube Trends and Top
To make this information more solid, I will show you a concrete example of how we brought one of our clients, who entered the Russian market with his sports brand in the field of bodybuilding, to the top of the video.
When forming its rankings, YouTube takes into account a large number of different parameters, among which the most important are:
1. The number of views and the dynamics of view growth;
2. Average depth of views;
3. Social activity around the video (number of likes, comments, etc.).
Step 1: Selecting the keyword
First, let’s determine what keyword we will use to climb to the top of Olympus. A keyword is the word that people search for the information they want in a search.
What we need to do:
- Form a list of queries in your head that the most paying and hottest customers will search for you;
- Check it against the demand here: wordstat.yandex.ru; google keywords and others.
- Check that the frequency does not exceed 10,000 hits (you can do more, but it will be harder);
- Take 5-10 words “that searched with the word. To do this you need to write a keyword in wordstat.yandex.ru, and then click on it, and all the words below it will be just “what was looking for in the word.
In our case we took the keyword “wide back”. And here’s a screenshot for you, pay attention to the number of impressions.
Step 2: Create a headline
Before you upload the video to YouTube, you need to name the file with the most important keyword. Recall, for example, we called it “Wide Back”. That’s why we call the file that.
Then, when we upload that file, the name will automatically be assigned from the file name. In the continuation of the title we:
- Either we type in all the words “what we were looking for with the word.”
- Or the most related;
- Or we just add any intriguing title that will make you click.
- In our case, we used the second option and added another related keyword, “Relief Training.”
Step 3: Make a description
In YouTube there is an option to add a description to the video, to make it easier for people to decide whether to watch it or not, and generally understand what the video will contain.
So, in addition to the fact that we write there by default links to our website, other social networks, there we also write the same description, given the following rules:
- The text really and interestingly describes what will be in the video;
- Not shorter than 5 sentences;
- Twice in the text we repeat the name of the video one-to-one, without inflections – “Wide back: relief training”;
- The title of the video is repeated once with a blur – “Wide and Powerful Back”.
Step 4: Formatting the video
The formatting of the video has nothing to do with its promotion in terms of search and queries.
The only thing it can affect is even more engagement and click-ability. You’ll learn about that in Step 5.
When I talk about design, I mean things like cover art, annotations, and cues.
Step 5: Get the views
When the video is ready and you finally hit publish, you urgently need to make a quantum leap in views, in the first 24 hours. The faster the effect and the more massive, the better.
In our experience, it is important to consider when implementing successful video promotion projects:
Video virality. Of course, ideally, a video is so viral that it requires minimal budget and effort to reach the top. Obviously, this situation is uncommon, and an average advertising campaign consists of promoting videos with an average level of virality. But even such videos can be successfully promoted to YouTube’s top.
Planning a promotional campaign for a video even before the video is produced. In other words, when producing a video, it’s important to understand how you’re going to promote the video and consider all the factors that affect the effectiveness of the campaign.
Reaching the target audience. By showing the video to users who are potentially interested in it, we affect all three factors: getting a good CTR from impressions to views, increasing the average viewing depth, and getting quality feedback.
Moreover, we have had experience when we gave literally 500 views and that was enough, and there were times that only after 3,000 the situation moved. But again, it depends on the frequency of the keyword to the number and quality of competitors’ videos in youtube output.
Stage 6: Writing comments
The final stage before getting the cherished result. And at this stage we need to leave about 20 comments from different computers, different accounts and of course different IP.
But the comments should not be easy and not even golden, they should be SEO. Namely, they should include the keywords that we chose at the first stage.
To consolidate the results we need to show YouTube that our video is popular. In addition to views and comments, this can be done through social activity, namely reposts.
The more of them, the better. But we should not forget that if in the first 10 minutes you will get 1000 reposts at once, it will be counted as cheating. So you need to do everything gradually.
If you do not have your own social networks, which can help you in such activity, you can use a special service, which will do it all for you, and gradually and safely.
Step 8: Make adjustments
It may be sad and your video will not get to the top, which is very unlikely if you do all the steps correctly.
But this can also happen for other reasons, such as a difficult keyword or a lot of competition. At this point, it’s very important not to stop and finish the video by views, by likes, by comments. And as I said before, only live.
Briefly about the key to promoting your YouTube channel
All eight stages, promoting the video are important, one complements the other. You won’t get any of the steps to throw away or make it mediocre. Then the other steps won’t work and you won’t be able to promote your video on YouTube conditionally for free.
You shouldn’t save money on creating the material, it’s better to save money on promoting your video. Get your subscribers and youtube robots accustomed to the release of new video releases and they will already be waiting for your new material by the appointed time. Absorb it and immediately bring it to the top without any additional boost.
The important thing is to get the first views from live people. And you’ve learned how you can do it for free. You’ll have to pay if you don’t have friends or a customer base.
On the one hand, all these actions are not difficult, but I can say that it is very routine. But you did it once, and you can say that your video is at the top for all eternity. Although not guaranteed. In fact, to get activity on the channel in the form of subscribers, views and the same likes, you can use online services. Here are a few arguments for this option:
- fast speed of operation;
- guaranteed result;
- a fairly low cost of services;
- safety when making payments;
- prompt technical support;
- wide range and variety of services;
- opportunity to save your time and effort.
Maybe someone has other schemes and methods how to get video to the top of Youtube, but personally we advise to stick to this variant.
